Some people believe that adolescents should be required to do unpaid work in their spare time to support the local community, which is beneficial for both individuals and society. As a result, many high schools and universities ask their students to volunteer for projects or organizations outside of school and submit certificates to the school. However, many people think that doing these jobs is unnecessary because they do not benefit the individual student or society when they are still little kids.

This blog post will share my views on this issue: I think that students should do unpaid work for both their benefit and society’s benefit.
First, teenagers can take numerous advantages individually when doing unpaid work during free time. They can get experience while doing these jobs, which are usually not too tricky that almost everyone can do.
Therefore, people who participate in these jobs can quickly get their own experience in related fields. Nowadays, almost every company requires the applicants’ experience, so it will be a plus point for them if they have experienced before while doing unpaid work, which will help them have more chances to be accepted for the job.
For example, students can hand out volunteer flyers or call for donations on the street or in their residence. This will help students learn how to talk to strangers and improve their communication skills, which will benefit their future work. They can do media work on social networking sites like Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok for charity projects or NGOs. This is a huge plus in their profile job applications of students, especially with the media industry.
I have improved my English a lot in a short time after working as a blogger at Project Sprouts for a short time and learned a lot of experience and knowledge from people around me. I appreciate the opportunity to work at Project Sprouts to develop myself and my skills.
Furthermore, adolescents can have more friends and social relationships that may benefit them in the future. For example, when they need help, they can call for friends or the relationship they have met while doing unpaid work. Many close and trusting relationships are built during their time in these jobs as they will meet and learn from all kinds of people with different professions and cultures. They will listen to experience sharing from those who have gone before to come and go when needed; they can ask for help or advice.
Because they meet many people, they can also find friends with similar interests or personalities to become close friends with them for a long time. Every relationship is worth cherishing, and there is nothing wrong with expanding our social circle. For example, being involved in blogging at Project Sprouts has allowed me to make beautiful connections from my peers to my predecessors, who have given me a lot of advice. I feel delighted that I chose this job.
Secondly, teenagers doing unpaid jobs are also valuable for society and their own benefits. By doing these jobs, they can help more people successfully resolve the problems of hunger, poverty, illiteracy, and many others that people are suffering from. They can live a better life, have enough food to eat, enough clothes to wear, and have a chance to go to school and change their future. As a result, society’s quality of life will be improved, and the community can be better.
Taking the volunteers of the Hanoi Association of Youth Blood Donor Recruits as an example, their jobs are recruiting blood donors and raising awareness of the need for community support. By doing this job, they can contribute a part of their strength to help the patients who have blood-related diseases to have a chance to save their life. This serves not only for an individual’s benefit but also for a whole community’s advantages.
Working at Project Sprouts allows me to help the community, especially the poor children who still have a lot of difficulties in learning and in daily life, to give them opportunities to get out of poverty. Working here has helped me train myself and make my dreams come true as I have been able to help more people.
As someone who has participated in many volunteer work and non-profit projects, I believe that participating in these works will help students learn a lot of knowledge and experience in books and make great friends. In conclusion, adolescents should do unpaid work in their free time to help the local community, advantageous for both the individual teenager and society.
At Project Sprouts, we realize that we can not solve all the problems of poverty in a situation like this. But we can seek to make a difference in the lives of needy children by giving them school supplies and encouraging them to continue their education; we can give them winter coats, boots, and blankets to help them stay warm during the cold winter months.
Project Sprouts would love to have you be a part of our community and help us help worthy children in North Vietnam. We cannot solve all the world’s problems, but we can do our part to help poor kids grow by giving school supplies, winter coats, boots, and other supplies.
